The tender, referenced as SCI-ET-2025-022, requires the delivery of 4,638 goats—3,865 female milking goats and 773 males—that must adhere to specified age, breed, and health standards, verified by local and regional livestock experts. Deliveries will occur in four phases across the three woredas.
Mandatory requirements include a valid business license for livestock supply, a bid security of ETB 250,000 via certified payment order or bank guarantee valid for at least three months, and proof of experience with at least three certificates or letters from the regional Bureau of Livestock and Fishery Development or international NGOs confirming prior successful goat supplies in Afar. SCI reserves the right to verify these documents with issuing entities.
Tender documents are available for a non-refundable fee of ETB 100 from SCI's Addis Ababa country office, near Meskel Square by the Hyatt Regency Hotel, or the Semera field office, from October 28, 2025, to November 14, 2025, during working hours. Bids must be submitted by November 17, 2025, at 3:00 PM in separate sealed envelopes for technical and financial proposals, plus a distinct envelope for the bid security in the name of Save the Children International amounting to ETB 250,000. Submissions go into the designated bid box at either SCI office, bearing the bidder's name, address, reference number, and title. SCI retains the right to accept or reject any or all bids in part or entirety.
