Sega has outlined upgrade options for owners of Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2, allowing discounted transitions to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam versions launching on December 8. These updates build on the games' recent Switch 2 releases with added content and language support. Digital owners of prior versions can access the enhancements at reduced or no cost, depending on the title.
Upgrade Details
Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio are bringing enhanced versions of the three Yakuza titles from PS4, Xbox One, and Steam to current-gen platforms. The updates focus on modest improvements, including new content for Yakuza 0 and expanded language options for the others, following their availability on Switch 2.
For Yakuza 0, the release arrives as Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut, featuring new cutscenes for deeper character insights, a new English dub, an online co-op mode called Red Light Raid, and the previously omitted theme song Bubble. The full Director’s Cut is priced at $49.99 / £44.99, but digital owners on PS4, Xbox One, or Steam can upgrade for $14.99 / £11.99.
Yakuza Kiwami includes the songs Receive You (Reborn) and Bleed, absent from the original Western version, plus text support in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian. It costs $19.99 / £15.99 standalone, with upgrades from PS4 or Xbox One digital copies available for $1.99 / £1.79 on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 receives only the added text languages listed above. Upgrades from PS4 or Xbox One digital versions to PS5 or Xbox Series X/S are free.
Eligibility and Limitations
To qualify, players must own the digital versions by December 8; physical copies, PlayStation Plus, or Xbox Game Pass do not count. Upgrades are restricted to the same console family, such as PS4 to PS5 or Steam to Steam. These plans aim to ease the shift for existing fans without major overhauls.
