Seven Nollywood films to premiere in cinemas this November

November 2025 brings a lineup of seven new Nollywood films to cinemas across Nigeria, offering a mix of thrillers, family dramas, and action stories. From revenge tales inspired by true events to spiritual journeys and murder mysteries, these releases promise diverse entertainment for audiences. The films begin rolling out on November 7 and continue through the month.

Nollywood enthusiasts have much to look forward to this November, with seven films set to hit cinemas starting November 7, 2025. The selection spans genres, including intense dramas and light-hearted comedies, as highlighted in a recent Guardian Nigeria preview published on November 6.

The first release, Three Cold Dishes, arrives on November 7. Directed by Asurf Oluseyi and executive produced by Burna Boy, it follows three women who survived teenage sex trafficking reuniting for revenge. Inspired by true events, the film stars Osas Ighodaro, Fat Toure, and Maud Guerard, exposing human trafficking's realities while celebrating survival.

On November 14, Son of Iron premieres. Directed by Tunde Olaoye, it centers on Kunle, a young inventor clashing with tradition in his father's blacksmith workshop. Haunted by visions of his late grandfather, he connects spiritually to the Yoruba god Ogun. The cast includes Sola Sobowale, Tina Mba, Jide Kosoko, and Mr Macaroni.

November 21 features four films. Grandpa Must Obey, directed by Chibuzor Afurobi, depicts a stubborn grandfather caring for grandchildren, leading to chaos and lessons in love and patience. Stars include Kanayo O. Kanayo, Yvonne Jegede, and Fiyin Asenuga.

Safari, directed by Obi Emelonye, follows a senator's wife in Kenya entangled in a murder probe, starring Osas Ighodaro, Ali Nuhu, and Emmanuel Mugo.

Son of the Soil, directed by Chee Keong Cheung, involves a former soldier investigating his sister's death, uncovering a drug syndicate. It stars Razaaq Adoti, Ireti Doyle, and Patience Ozokwor.

Unknown Soja, directed by Marc Adebesin, sees a mechanic confronting his soldier past to save his family, with Deyemi Okanlawon and Omowunmi Dada.

Finally, on November 28, War Lord (Olori Ogun) releases, directed by Abbey Lanre, Adebayo Tijani, and Odunlade Adekola. A betrayed war chief reclaims his throne with his queen's help, starring Odunlade Adekola, Muyiwa Ademola, and Fathia Balogun.

These films promise laughter, tension, and emotional depth, catering to varied tastes in Nigerian cinema.
