Former child actor Tylor Chase, known for his role on Nickelodeon's 'Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide,' has captured attention after a viral video showed him homeless in Riverside, California. Shaun Weiss, star of 'The Mighty Ducks' films, has publicly offered assistance, including a bed at a detox facility and long-term treatment. Weiss urged followers to help locate Chase ahead of the holidays.
On December 22, 2025, Shaun Weiss shared a video on Instagram extending support to Tylor Chase, a fellow former child actor facing hardship. Chase, who portrayed the talkative and intelligent Martin Qwerly on the three-season Nickelodeon series 'Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide,' appeared in a viral social media clip living on the streets of Riverside, California. In the video, when asked if he had been on Disney Channel, Chase clarified, "Nickelodeon," and named his show as "'Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.'"
Weiss, best known for playing goalie Greg Goldberg in the 1992 film 'The Mighty Ducks' and its sequels 'D2: The Mighty Ducks' and 'D3: The Mighty Ducks,' drew from his own experiences with recovery. He stated, “I have received many messages about [Tylor Chase]. I reached out to some friends of mine, and we have a bed for him at a detox, and we have a place for him to go and get long-term treatment.” Emphasizing urgency, Weiss added, “All we need to do now is find him. I’m not in Los Angeles, or I would go look for him myself.” He encouraged anyone able to meet Chase face-to-face to direct message him, saying, “please DM me so we can get him some help in time for the holiday.”
Chase's other roles include an appearance on 'Everybody Hates Chris' and a part in the 2007 indie film 'Good Time Max' starring James Franco. Weiss has been candid about his sobriety, marking his two-year anniversary in 2022 with the message, “Recovery is possible.” This gesture highlights ongoing challenges faced by former child stars in Hollywood.
