Shell Lubricants Egypt has unveiled a revamped lubricants lineup at the Automorrow 2026 exhibition in Cairo, featuring products that meet the 2025 API SQ standard, the top performance benchmark for passenger car engine oils yet. The move arrives amid signs of recovery in Egypt's automotive sector, as noted by Haytham Yehia, Cluster General Manager for Shell in the Middle East, Egypt, and Central Asia.
The Automorrow 2026 international automotive exhibition, running from February 5 to 8 at the Cairo International Convention Center, served as the stage for Shell Lubricants Egypt's launch of its updated lubricants range. Key among the offerings is Shell Helix Ultra, powered by PurePlus Technology that transforms natural gas into a 99.5% pure base oil. These formulations are tailored to handle the demands of contemporary engines, offering robust protection during high-load and extreme-temperature operations.
Haytham Yehia remarked at the event: “Egypt’s automotive industry is showing signs of recovery, and Shell continues to support this momentum by introducing globally proven technologies that meet the evolving needs of drivers and manufacturers.”
As the event's platinum sponsor, Shell aims to foster industry connections between manufacturers and consumers. Holding the title of the world's top lubricants provider for 19 straight years, the company emphasizes its technical alliances, such as a partnership with Ferrari lasting over 75 years. In Egypt, Shell prioritizes innovative products alongside consumer safeguards, including an authenticity verification tool for its goods. This debut reinforces Shell's position as a key technology ally in Egypt's automotive landscape, aligning with its global Helix strategy and refreshed international standards.
