SMHI presented its first forecast for Midsummer's Eve on June 19 on Wednesday. It points to typical summer weather with varying cloudiness and just over 20 degrees in southern Sweden.
According to Sverker Hellström, meteorologist at SMHI, the outlook is for varying cloudiness and just over 20 degrees in Götaland and Svealand on Friday next week. Slightly cooler conditions and rain showers are expected further north. Hellström added that the forecast may continue on Midsummer's Day. He stressed, however, that the ten-day forecast is very uncertain, even though it resembles how most Midsummers usually turn out. Another meteorologist, Lasse Rydkvist at Klart, assesses that southern Sweden can count on sunny weather and temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees. Northern Sweden risks rain from a low-pressure system over the Norwegian Sea.
