Starring Michelle Pfeiffer, the six-episode drama premieres on Paramount+ on March 14, 2026. The Yellowstone universe continues to expand with The Madison, a spinoff first announced in August 2024. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the series follows a New York City family navigating grief in the Madison River Valley of central Montana. Initially reported to center on wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn after her husband and brother-in-law's deaths in a plane crash, the logline describes it as "a heartfelt study of grief and human connection."
The first season, consisting of six episodes, is set to premiere on Paramount+ on March 14, 2026. Production on a second season has already wrapped, as confirmed by cast member Elle Chapman's Instagram post: “And that’s a wrap on season 2. Heart is full.” A teaser trailer and first-look images were unveiled in January 2026, offering glimpses into the series' world.
Michelle Pfeiffer stars as the lead and serves as an executive producer. Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO and President of Paramount Global, praised her: “Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace. She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”
The ensemble cast includes Matthew Fox as Paul, a self-reliant bachelor; Kurt Russell in an undisclosed role; Patrick J. Adams as Russell McIntosh, a young investment banker; Elle Chapman as Paige, his wife; Beau Garrett as Abigail Reese, a divorced mother; Amiah Miller and Alaina Pollack as her daughters; Kevin Zegers as neighbor Cade; Rebecca Spence as family friend Liliana Weeks; and Danielle Vasinova as the Indigenous wife of a local rancher. Chapman and Garrett's characters are daughters of Pfeiffer's role. When asked about the cast, Adams responded coyly: "Yes—and I have no idea what I’m allowed to say about that show, so I’m going to say absolutely nothing except 'yes' to what you just said."
Yellowstone executive producer Christina Voros highlighted the series' distinct perspective: “It’s such a different story. The common ground is the landscape. We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens, so it feels like another facet of this cut stone that has been polished. There are parallels in the scope of landscape and a human being’s place in that space, but it’s coming at it from a completely different point of view.”
While billed as a spinoff, direct ties to the original Yellowstone storyline remain unclear, with no overlapping characters confirmed. Rumors of Matthew McConaughey's involvement have not materialized.
