Three armed men raid tour bus on German highway

Three armed assailants stopped and robbed a tour bus on the A93 highway in Lower Bavaria overnight into Monday. They pretended to conduct a police check and demanded cash and documents from the passengers. The perpetrators fled towards Munich without being caught.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on the A93 highway in Lower Bavaria. The perpetrators used signals to force the bus off the road and to stop at the Aiglsbach exit in the Kelheim district, police reported. They then pretended to carry out an official check and were equipped with firearms.

The assailants demanded cash and personal documents from the passengers. After the robbery, they got into a small van and fled towards Munich. The ongoing manhunt was initially unsuccessful, and none of the bus passengers were injured.

Police provided no further details and called for witnesses to come forward. The criminal police are investigating the robbery, which took place overnight into Monday. Such incidents on highways are rare but highlight the authorities' vigilance in the Lower Bavaria region.
