Roberto Kovalick ended his tenure on Globo's morning news program Hora 1 after six years at the helm on Thursday, October 30. At the end of the edition, he welcomed Tiago Scheuer, who officially begins his role on Friday, October 31.
Tiago Scheuer has been with TV Globo since 2011 and gained prominence as a reporter in São Paulo, covering events such as the 2013 protests, the Osasco massacre, and the school attack in Suzano. He excelled in live reports, coverage of samba school parades, editions of the Lollapalooza and The Town festivals, as well as stories for Fantástico and Globo Repórter. Before joining Bom Dia SP, where he worked alongside Sabina Simonato, he presented weather forecasts on local and network news.
In a statement, Scheuer expressed excitement about the new challenge: “I couldn't be happier to take on the mission of saying good morning to Brazilians with the main news of the moment in the program that opens our schedule. For me, it's a great responsibility to continue the legacy of this journal that for over ten years informs in a dynamic, conversational way with a lot of credibility. I'm anxious and, at the same time, calm with this challenge because by my side there is an incredible and engaged team, always attentive to everything: from the weather forecast to sports, from the behind-the-scenes of national politics to what happens on the other side of the world. Hora 1 is always in motion, being plural and full of accents gathered in a big chat while the day is just beginning”.
Starting Friday, Marcelo Pereira will take over Scheuer's spot on Bom Dia SP. This transition happens amid changes in Globo's news programs, highlighting renewal in the network's journalism team.
