Tom Holland shared on a podcast how he and Zendaya pushed for a scene rewrite during filming of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The couple, who have collaborated on four Spider-Man films, also star together in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
Holland appeared on the Good Hang podcast with Amy Poehler. He described an on-set moment where a scene was not working as intended. The actors spoke with director Destin Daniel Cretton, who sent the crew home to allow a rewrite. The scene was reshot the next day and Holland said it works well in the finished film. Holland called Zendaya a lifeline in his work and praised her fearless approach to roles. He noted their real-life relationship gave him the confidence to raise the issue.
