Two men are facing trial for the 2019 killing of an off-duty firefighter in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Prosecutors allege the defendants robbed and shot Christopher Randazzo to steal his phone, sneakers and cash.
Torrey Holston, now 26, and Jose Garcia Romero, now 27, stand accused of first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and conspiracy. Authorities say the pair targeted Randazzo, a 39-year-old Coral Springs-Parkland firefighter, while he slept outside a resort and took his red Nike sneakers, iPhone and wallet containing 55 dollars along with his car keys.
