UEFA Futsal Champions League round of 16 starts 24 November

The new-look UEFA Futsal Champions League enters its knockout phase with the round of 16 beginning on 24 November. This two-legged stage features 16 teams progressing from the main round, leading to quarter-finals and a four-team final in May. Defending champions Illes Balears Palma headline the ties as unbeaten contenders.

The UEFA Futsal Champions League 2025/26 season advances to the round of 16, marking the start of the knockout bracket under the revamped format. This stage replaces the former elite round and consists of two-legged ties, with first legs scheduled for 24 and 25 November, and second legs from 1 to 5 December. All times are CET.

Round of 16 First Legs

  • Monday 24 November: Semey vs Piast Gliwice (16:00), Araz Naxçivan vs Benfica (17:00), Hjørring Futsal Klub vs Etoile Lavalloise (19:00), Luxol St. Andrews vs Cartagena Costa Cálida (19:00), AEK Futsal Club vs Sporting CP (20:00), Sporting Anderlecht vs Kairat Almaty (20:00), Prishtina 01 vs Riga Futsal Club (20:15).
  • Tuesday 25 November: Hit Kyiv vs Illes Balears Palma (18:00).

Notable matchups include Araz Naxçivan facing Benfica, who previously defeated them 7-0 in the 2019/20 main round. Benfica, winners in 2009/10, bring a strong pedigree with three bronze medals. Sporting CP, champions in 2018/19 and 2020/21, meet AEK Futsal Club, the second Greek side to reach this stage. Kairat Almaty, in their 22nd European campaign and two-time winners, rematch Sporting Anderlecht, whom they drew 2-2 with in 2022/23.

Illes Balears Palma, seeking a fourth straight title, face Hit Kyiv after holding them to a 2-2 draw last season. Palma remain unbeaten in 27 UEFA games. Piast Gliwice's recent 2-1 win over Anderlecht drew a record non-finals crowd of 10,357 at PreZero Arena Gliwice.

Second Legs and Beyond

Second legs include Etoile Lavalloise vs Hjørring Futsal Klub on 1 December (20:30), followed by ties on 4 and 5 December. The quarter-finals, drawn already, are set for 23 February and 6 March, with winners advancing to the finals in Pesaro from 8 to 10 May. Potential quarter-final highlights include a Benfica-Sporting CP clash and a Kairat-Cartagena rematch from last season's 3-2 semi-final.
