Västerås IK has reinforced its roster with Fabian Hellström and Adam Arvedson from Troja Ljungby. The signings were presented earlier this week, with coach Peter Popovic confirming ongoing talks with forward Lukas Zetterberg.
Västerås has added forward Fabian Hellström, who recorded two goals and three assists in 34 regular-season games for Troja last year and four points in five qualification matches. Coach Peter Popovic highlighted Hellström's strength in one-on-one situations and offensive threat.
The club also signed defenseman Adam Arvedson, 24, who tallied 12 points in 41 games for Troja. Assistant sports chief Stefan Holmgren described Arvedson as a puck-moving two-way player with NCAA experience at Merrimack College and noted his background as the son of former NHL player Magnus Arvedson.
Popovic stated that the squad may still have room for one more forward. He confirmed active dialogue with 29-year-old Lukas Zetterberg, who remains under contract with Finnish club Pelicans but has expressed mutual interest in a move to Västerås.
