Visby Roma has added Finnish defenseman Janne Peltonen ahead of the club's first season in HockeyAllsvenskan. The 2023 NHL draft pick joins from Kärpät in Finland.
Visby Roma announced the signing of the young Finnish player on June 16. Peltonen, selected 195th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2023 NHL draft, is described as a modern two-way defenseman.
Sportchef André Lundholm highlighted Peltonen's potential. "Janne is a very interesting defenseman with many tools in his toolbox," Lundholm said. "He is a modern two-way defenseman who can play in all parts of the ice and who still has a large development potential."
Peltonen brings experience from high-level play in Finland. The club expects the new environment and increased responsibility to aid his continued growth.
