Minnesota Wild offered goaltender Jesper Wallstedt and forward Danila Jurov to the St. Louis Blues in a bid to acquire center Robert Thomas before the March trade deadline. The Blues declined the package, leaving Wallstedt with the Wild.
The proposed deal surfaced in reports from The Athletic this week. Wallstedt had posted a strong rookie season with Minnesota, prompting the club to explore options while viewing Filip Gustavsson as the top netminder going forward. Blues general manager Doug Armstrong ultimately kept Thomas, who recorded 64 points in 64 games this season after winning the Stanley Cup in 2019 with the team.
