Wilco and the Breeders set yo-yo world record

Wilco, the Breeders, and thousands of fans broke the world record for the most people yo-yoing at once during the Solid Sound Festival.

The record attempt took place on June 27 at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams. A total of 5,000 participants succeeded in smashing the previous mark of 2,036 simultaneous spinners.

The festival ran from June 26 through 28 and featured performances by Gang of Four, Billy Bragg, Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band, Sharp Pins, and L’Rain. It was the first edition since 2024.

Jeff Tweedy and Kim Deal joined the large group in the successful attempt. Other activities at the event included a comedy cabaret, film screenings, yoga, and guided hikes.
