पश्चिम एशिया संघर्ष से उत्पन्न गैस आपूर्ति बाधाओं के कारण भारत ने 10 गीगावाट कोयला-आधारित बिजली संयंत्रों के नियोजित रखरखाव को तीन महीने के लिए टाल दिया है। बिजली मंत्रालय के अतिरिक्त सचिव पीयूष सिंह ने बताया कि ईरान युद्ध के प्रभाव से 8 गीगावाट गैस-आधारित क्षमता प्रभावित हुई है। सरकार अगले तीन महीनों में 22 गीगावाट नई क्षमता जोड़ने की योजना बना रही है।
