Addis Ababa's shelter centers serve 36,600 people daily, according to the city's shelter agency. These facilities provide services to socially vulnerable groups. High support is noted in the Medina district.

In Addis Ababa, on Hidar 28, 2018 (Fana Media), the city's shelter agency reported that the Tesfa Berhan shelter centers have 36,600 users. Agency Director Sintayehu Mamo told Fana Digital that the Tesfa Berhan shelter serves as a user facility for socially vulnerable population segments.

"Tesfa Berhan shelter serves as a user facility for socially vulnerable population segments. On this basis, population segments receiving high support in Medina access shelter services daily at the center," Mamo said.

Currently, 26 Tesfa Berhan shelter centers exist in the city, with the centers having 36,600 users. Efforts are underway to expand the service. She called on partners and stakeholders to provide support.

Beyond shelter, the centers create job opportunities. Over 350 beneficiaries have obtained jobs. Additionally, 500 shelter users have been trained in skills to enable self-sufficiency.
