Asus TUF T500 SFF gaming desktop launches in Singapore

Asus has introduced the TUF T500, a compact gaming desktop that uses a mobile Intel CPU to fit powerful components into a small form factor. First revealed at Computex 2025, the system targets users seeking high performance without bulk. It will be available in Singapore starting July 25.

The Asus TUF T500 marks an unconventional approach to small form factor (SFF) gaming PCs by incorporating laptop processors. Unveiled at Computex 2025 and now launching in Singapore, the desktop comes in two configurations: one with an Intel Core i5-13420H CPU paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 GPU and a 330W power supply, and a higher-end variant featuring an Intel Core i7-13620H, RTX 5060 Ti, and 500W supply.

These 13th-generation Intel chips, released in early 2023, are typically found in laptops, making their use in a desktop unusual. Asus notes that mobile processors help with thermal management in constrained spaces and consume less power than desktop equivalents. However, this choice limits upgradability, as the CPU is soldered onto a proprietary motherboard, unlike standard desktop sockets.

Both models include 32GB of DDR5-5200 SO-DIMM RAM and 1TB M.2 NVMe storage. Connectivity options encompass Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit Ethernet, three front USB ports (two Type-A, one Type-C), two rear Type-A ports, and an HDMI 2.1 output, though Thunderbolt is absent. The 15.92-liter chassis measures 155 x 296 x 347mm, drawing design inspiration from mecha anime with its angular front panel, and it meets MIL-STD-810H durability standards.

Priced at S$1,799 for the base model and S$2,199 for the upgraded version, the TUF T500 becomes available on July 25 via Asus's online store, exclusive store, and authorized retailers. This follows similar experiments in Asus's ExpertCenter line, such as the P500MV, which shares components with the TUF model.
