Bitcoin rose above $64,000 on Friday, recovering weekly losses and approaching a key resistance level at $65,000. The move comes as technical indicators turn positive and Asian markets rally on AI demand.
Bitcoin traded near $64,500 in U.S. morning trading, up 3 percent over 24 hours and 4.2 percent for the week. It erased earlier declines tied to geopolitical tensions and moved higher alongside gains in semiconductor stocks.
The cryptocurrency has now spent 307 days inside the $60,000 to $70,000 band, the third-longest consolidation in any $10,000 price range in its history, according to Glassnode data. A longer-term MACD histogram has crossed above zero, signaling building momentum toward resistance at $65,434 and $67,292.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of $95 million on Thursday. Ether funds lost $52 million, ending a five-day inflow streak. Traders also noted a narrowing Coinbase premium discount and strength in the yen that limited gains in yen-denominated pairs.
