Chris Simms placed Aaron Rodgers seventh on his list of the best quarterbacks of all time during a Monday podcast appearance. The ranking highlights Rodgers' prime with the Green Bay Packers while noting his single Super Bowl title. Rodgers, now 42, has joined the Pittsburgh Steelers for another season.
Simms described Rodgers' peak performance on his Unbuttoned podcast. "To play at that high of a level, and in his prime was arguably one of the most unstoppable forces we ever saw," he said. He added that Rodgers' statistics, including 527 touchdown passes and 123 interceptions, reflect consistent high-level play over many years.
Rodgers earned four league MVP awards with the Packers, second-most in NFL history. Despite those accomplishments, he won only one Super Bowl. Simms noted that some NFC Championship appearances came despite team limitations because of Rodgers' individual talent.
Rodgers has returned to the Steelers as their starting quarterback. He is reunited with head coach Mike McCarthy and aims to compete for another title. Last season the team lost in the Wild Card round to the Houston Texans.
