Cimientos presents advances in educational equity at annual breakfast

The Cimientos Foundation held its annual breakfast at the Navarro Viola Foundation, gathering over 100 allies to thank supporters and share results from its educational programs. President María Julia Tramutola highlighted the importance of sustained alliances to boost education. The event featured reflections on the impact of artificial intelligence in teaching.

The Cimientos Foundation organized its traditional annual breakfast at the Navarro Viola Foundation, with the participation of more than one hundred people, including individual donors, companies, board members, and the institutional team. The meeting served as a space for accountability and reflection on the challenges of the educational system, marked by growing inequalities. The organization emphasized that educational equity can only be built with sustained alliances and long-term commitment.

President María Julia Tramutola opened the event highlighting daily work and strategic axes strengthened since 2023, such as continuous program improvement through systematic evaluations, digital transformation to generate more accessible data, and rebranding for greater closeness to audiences. “Cimientos was founded and grew always articulating with all sectors and working as a team. You are all Cimientos, and together we boost education”, affirmed Tramutola.

Philosopher Tomás Balmaceda, a specialist in digital culture, participated by inviting reflection on the impact of artificial intelligence in education. He warned that technology can improve writing and automate tasks, but it does not replace human experience or critical thinking. “Educating in times of algorithms is not just preparing for work. It is preparing for life”, he stated, adding that organizations like Cimientos will be key for society to imagine and build its future.

Executive Director Mercedes Méndez Ribas presented the year's results, reaffirming the commitment to transparency. The programs—Futuros Egresados, University Scholarships, Alumni Network, and Supporting Schools—reached over 8,000 young people across the country in 2025. Additionally, 939 teachers and directors participated in a training track. “Behind every number there is a life story”, emphasized Méndez Ribas.

Among the highlighted data, 80% of final-year secondary students obtain their degree, 88% of university students improve their performance, and 93% of teachers complete their training with high satisfaction levels. Founded in 1997, Cimientos operates in Argentina and Uruguay with over one hundred professionals, focused on school retention, trajectory strengthening, and job insertion. The Futuros Egresados program benefits 2,660 students in 113 schools across 66 localities, increasing graduation opportunities by 47%. The Alumni Network supported 3,698 young people in 2024, while University Scholarships retained 395 students at a rate 17 points above the national average. Supporting Schools involved 665 teachers in Entre Ríos and Mendoza, with 93% of schools ending the year with their own projects.

The day concluded by reaffirming that education transforms lives and requires stable alliances to expand real opportunities for thousands of young people.
