CLP Power will increase its fuel cost charge to 42.6 HK cents per unit of electricity in June, marking the third consecutive monthly rise. The new charge represents a 5.4 per cent increase from May.
CLP Power announced the adjustment on May 26. The June fuel cost charge will be 8.7 per cent higher than the 39.2 cents recorded in March.
A typical three-member household using 275 kWh monthly is projected to pay HK$380.09 for electricity in June. The net tariff combines the basic rate with monthly and annual fuel cost adjustments.
The monthly adjustment compares the actual average fuel price from the prior three months against earlier projections.
