Cobra introduces 3DP tour putters using advanced 3D printing

Cobra Golf has unveiled its new 3DP Tour Putters, incorporating 3D printed nylon cartridges for enhanced performance. The putters feature a multi-material design aimed at maximizing stability and feel. They will be available at retail starting March 13 for $379.

Cobra has established itself as a leader in 3D printing technology for golf clubs with the launch of the 3DP Tour Putters. The putters consist of a 304 stainless steel MIM body combined with a 3D printed nylon cartridge, tungsten sole weighting, and a carbon fiber crown. This multi-material head includes a stainless steel milled descending loft face.

The 3D printed nylon cartridge allows for complex and intricate shapes that traditional manufacturing cannot replicate, enabling engineers to precisely position the center of gravity. This design pushes weight back from the face toward the rear, increasing the moment of inertia (MOI) for greater resistance to twisting and improved stability. The MIM body and carbon fiber crown further optimize weight distribution.

A key feature is the Descending Loft Technology, adapted from LA Golf, where the face loft starts at 4° at the top and decreases in 1° steps to 1° at the bottom. This addresses common putting errors like pushing hands ahead or flipping the head, which affect loft at impact.

The putters come equipped with a KBS CT Tour stock shaft and a SuperStroke Pistol 1.0 grip. “3D printing gives us total freedom to design for performance first,” said Chad DeHart, Senior Product Line Manager at Cobra Golf. “By shifting mass out of the center of the putter, we pushed MOI higher than ever while engineering CG placement for exceptional stability. Pairing that with a fully milled 304 stainless steel face delivers the precise, Tour-validated feel players love. This is the kind of innovation that defines Cobra.”

These putters represent Cobra's ongoing commitment to innovative manufacturing techniques in golf equipment.
