At the 1.000+ Verdes | Economía Circular forum, the Superintendencia de Sociedades reported a record 2,500 sustainability reports received this year.
Nini Johana Castañeda, acting superintendent of Sociedades, announced the figure during the event organized by La República. The official said the goal for the next edition is to reach 3,000 reports and that 75.74% of the societies consulted declared themselves committed to the circular economy.
The construction, agricultural and manufacturing sectors lead the push for sustainability, according to the entity's analysis based on the country's 10,000 largest companies. Castañeda noted that commerce, manufacturing and services account for 86% of these firms.
In a panel on competitiveness, Mónica Villegas from ANDI, Iván Sánchez from PV Partners and Angie Estupiñán from LATAM Airlines Colombia participated. The panelists agreed that regulations drive transformation and that better financing mechanisms are needed for these models.
