Deputy Achurra accuses right wing of rejecting request for BTS concerts at National Stadium

Deputy Ignacio Achurra said the entire right wing voted against asking the Ministry of Sport to authorize BTS shows at the National Stadium.

During the session of the Chamber of Deputies' Culture and Arts Commission on Monday, July 6, 2026, Achurra criticized the vote and said the core problem lies in the deficient scheduling of the venue, which is the government's responsibility.

Achurra published the names of the deputies who rejected the request: Carlos Chandía of Renovación Nacional, Ricardo Neumann of the Independent Democratic Union, Javiera Rodríguez and Benjamín Moreno of the Republican Party, Cristóbal Urruticoechea of the National Libertarian Party, Cristián Contreras of the Party of the People and Francisco Orrego of Renovación Nacional.

The concerts have faced uncertainty since the National Sports Institute initially rejected use of the stadium over the installation of a 360-degree stage, which requires nine days and could damage the field ahead of scheduled sporting events.
