Dispatch may get season 2 after strong fan response

AdHoc Studio's superhero workplace comedy Dispatch has sold over 1 million copies in its first 10 days, prompting the developers to consider a second season. Co-founder Pierre Shorette acknowledged the possibility during a recent podcast appearance. The game's final two episodes premiere on November 12.

Game Overview

Dispatch is an episodic adventure game developed by AdHoc Studio, blending superhero elements with workplace comedy. Released in early October 2025, it quickly gained traction, selling 1 million copies within its first 10 days. Last week, it reached a peak of over 131,000 concurrent players on Steam following the release of new episodes.

Success and Future Prospects

The overwhelming fan response has shifted the studio's plans. Initially, AdHoc had no intentions for a sequel, but co-founders Pierre Shorette and Nick Herman discussed the topic on The Friends Per Second podcast hosted by Jake Baldino. Shorette stated, "[I think] that we're going to have to at least think about Season 2 now. That was a question mark three weeks ago, you know. So, it's a very cool problem to have."

The final two episodes of Season 1 are set to premiere on November 12, 2025, potentially pushing player numbers even higher.

Other Projects

In addition to Dispatch, AdHoc is working on a new game with Critical Role, set in the fantasy world of Exandria. Critical Role's Travis Willingham described it as featuring a brand-new story, with possible appearances from characters in the Vox Machina, Mighty Nein, and Bells Hells campaigns. He noted, "You are going to want to see your favorite characters," and emphasized it will be "something unique in the world of Exandria."
