Paramount+ has named Benjamin Cavell as the new showrunner for the second season of Dutton Ranch. The move follows the exit of original showrunner Chad Feehan ahead of the Season 1 finale.
The announcement came three days before the Season 1 finale, which is set to air on July 3 at 3 a.m. ET on Paramount+ and at 8 p.m. on the Paramount Network.
Cavell created the series SEAL Team and has worked on shows including Justified, Homeland, and The Stand. He will replace Feehan, whose tenure ends with the upcoming finale.
Puck News reported that Feehan left amid reported friction with stars Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, as well as with series creator Taylor Sheridan and producer David Glasser. The issues centered on production management rather than the scripts themselves.
Dutton Ranch was renewed for Season 2 earlier this month, though no premiere date has been set.
