This marks the 8th edition of the event, which celebrates contributions to entertainment by Black creators and figures.

The award highlights Johnson's journey from wrestling to becoming a global cultural icon. As stated by Nice Crowd co-CEOs and presidents Jeff Friday and Nicole Friday: “Dwayne Johnson is the very definition of an entertainment icon. From his trailblazing career in sports entertainment to his extraordinary success in film and television, he has become one of the most influential and beloved figures in global culture. Event Highlights

The ABFF Honors will also recognize other talents. Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson will receive the Renaissance Award, while director and executive producer Salli Richardson-Whitfield earns the Evolution Award. 'F1' star Damson Idris is set for the Horizon Award. Additionally, a special tribute will honor the creative team behind Ryan Coogler's horror film 'Sinners,' starring Michael B. Jordan.

The evening will be hosted by New York Times best-selling author and comedian KevOnStage. The event takes place on February 16, 2026, at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Johnson stars in A24's 'The Smashing Machine,' directed by Benny Safdie, portraying MMA fighter Mark Kerr and his struggles with addiction. Emily Blunt co-stars as his girlfriend. The film premiered in September at the Venice International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Lion award.
