The Epsom Derby, known as one of Britain's most prestigious flat races, is set to take place this afternoon at Epsom Downs. The event is open exclusively to three-year-old thoroughbreds and forms the second leg of the Triple Crown.
The race is scheduled to start at 4pm on Saturday 6 June 2026 as the fifth of eight races on the card. It covers a distance of 1m4f over the challenging undulating course at Epsom Downs. ITV will broadcast the festival live and free on ITV1 and ITVX from 1pm to 5pm, while Racing TV provides full coverage on subscription. The Oaks took place on Friday 5 June. The King and Queen have confirmed plans to attend. Final runners for the 2026 Classic have also been confirmed ahead of the event.
