An explosive device detonated at a villa in Eslöv on Saturday, destroying the outer door and some windows. One person was inside the villa but was not injured. Police are investigating the incident as public endangerment.
Police received reports of a suspected bang shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday in Eslöv. Upon arrival, officers confirmed a detonation had occurred outside the villa's entrance door.
"The outer door has been blown off. The door is destroyed. Some windows are also broken," said Evelina Olsson, spokesperson for the police command center.
One person was inside the villa and called emergency services but escaped physical injury. Several witnesses, including two children nearby, reported a loud bang and smoke. Police cordoned off the area and called in the national bomb squad from Malmö to check for additional hazardous items. Crime scene technicians conducted an investigation.
Police have interviewed witnesses and are probing the case as public endangerment. It remains unclear what exploded—likely not a hand grenade—and no suspect has been identified. By 9:30 p.m., police were nearly done at the scene, leaving one patrol behind.
"There is no suspect and no one detained," Olsson said.
