Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde suffered a cut to his forehead during a clash with Aurélien Tchouaméni at Valdebebas and received hospital treatment. The club has opened disciplinary proceedings against both players, and Valverde will be sidelined for 10 to 14 days with a cranial trauma.
The incident occurred during training sessions this week at Real Madrid’s training ground. According to Valverde himself, it started with a play during Wednesday’s session and escalated into a disagreement on Thursday. The Uruguayan explained that he accidentally bumped into a table, causing a small cut on his forehead.
In a statement posted on his social media, Valverde denied any intentional punches. "In no moment has my teammate hit me and neither have I," he said. He added that he regretted arguing with a teammate and placed himself at the club’s disposal for any decision.
Real Madrid confirmed the opening of disciplinary proceedings against both players. Club sources indicated that Valverde will miss the upcoming clásico against Barcelona on medical advice and that the team is considering possible further sanctions.
