Bygdeveckan in Älvdalen and Västerdalsveckan in Malung-Sälens kommun are underway but several village days have disappeared in recent years. Finnmarksdagen in Nornäs struggles with waning energies and internal conflicts.
Both Bygdeveckan in Älvdalen and Västerdalsveckan in Malung-Sälens kommun are in full swing right now. Different villages in the area host events on different days during the week.
According to information given to SVT Dalarna, waning energies, internal conflicts and lack of volunteer engagement are some reasons why several arrangements have disappeared.
In the village of Lima, Limadagen has been partly saved by a motor event that attracts visitors and veteran vehicles. Kenneth Limberg from Lima Bilentusiaster says it is important to hold the event on Limadagen because the date is already established.
Elin Mojanis, who visits Lima Summermeet with her veteran moped, believes the event provides advertising for the area.
