Swedish center Gabriel Seger has signed an AHL contract with the Chicago Wolves. The 26-year-old will remain in North America instead of returning to the SHL.
Seger ended the previous season with the Grand Rapids Griffins, appearing in 19 AHL games. He has now agreed to terms with Chicago for the upcoming campaign.
The Uppsala native previously played college hockey at Union College and Cornell University. In the 2023/24 season he recorded 44 points in 35 games for Cornell before moving to professional hockey in the ECHL and AHL.
Seger had told Hockeysverige he intended to give North America one or two more years while keeping the option of an SHL return open. The new deal confirms he will continue his career on the other side of the Atlantic.
