Games Workshop has hinted at a new line of Iron Warriors miniatures for Warhammer 40,000, marking the first specialized units for this Chaos Space Marine legion. The announcement came during a recent preview event, with full reveals expected at Adepticon in March. This development builds on the legion's storied history in the game's lore.
The Iron Warriors, a traitor legion of Chaos Space Marines known for their expertise in siege warfare, are poised to get their own dedicated miniatures from Games Workshop. This legion, led by the primarch Perturabo, was one of nine that turned against the Imperium of Man during the Horus Heresy. They played a key role in the Siege of Terra, clashing with their rivals, the Imperial Fists, in a contest of fortifications versus assaults. Though defeated alongside other Chaos forces in the Heresy, remnants of the Iron Warriors persist in the grim future of Warhammer 40,000, continuously challenging the Imperium.
Until now, the Iron Warriors have been depicted using generic Chaos Space Marines models on the tabletop. Rumors suggest upcoming upgrade kits will feature legion-specific heraldry, weapons, and bionic limbs, reflecting their tradition of replacing mutated body parts with iron prosthetics. The teaser, shown at the close of a Warhammer Preview event, indicates these enhancements will be central to the new releases.
This would make the Iron Warriors the fifth Chaos legion to receive tailored units, following the World Eaters, Thousand Sons, Emperor's Children, and Death Guard—each aligned with one of the four Chaos gods. In contrast, the Iron Warriors embody Chaos Undivided, loyal to the broader concept of chaos rather than a single deity.
The full reveal is anticipated at Adepticon, scheduled for March in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This addition promises to enrich gameplay for fans of the faction's mechanical and siege-focused tactics.
