On November 3, 2025, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel toured Kadvasan village in Gir-Somnath district and Panidhra village in Junagadh district, focusing on crop damage caused by unseasonal rains that started in the last week of October. Accompanied by Ministers Arjun Modhwadia, Dr Pradyuman Vaja, and Minister of State Shri Kaushik Vekariya, Patel interacted with farmers to gauge the situation firsthand.
The chief minister emphasized the state government's solidarity with farmers, stating, "The state government stands with the farmers and will support them through this period." He promised a relief package would be declared soon after surveys conclude, instructing officials to expedite assessments for timely aid.
Surveys have covered about 70% of affected areas, involving over 4,800 teams across more than 16,000 villages in 249 talukas. Early estimates indicate widespread crop losses in several districts, with agriculture departments working under Patel's directions to compile detailed reports.
Other state leaders joined the effort: Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi visited Surat district, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani inspected Bhavnagar, Tribal Development Minister Naresh Patel went to Tapi, and State Minister Kaushikbhai Vekariya reviewed Amreli. These visits highlighted the government's commitment to addressing farmers' difficulties and ensuring recovery support.
