Hayley Williams releases 'Showbiz' from solo album

Hayley Williams dropped the previously unreleased song 'Showbiz' on November 7, 2025, as part of the physical edition of her third solo album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. The track, produced by co-writer Daniel James, serves as the album's closing song. The release coincides with Williams receiving four Grammy nominations for the 2026 awards.

Release Details

Physical editions of Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party became available on November 7, 2025, including two songs not on initial digital versions. Williams shared 'Good Ol’ Days' online last month, and 'Showbiz' followed as the final addition. The song features lyrics like, “In the fog / In the flood beams / On a lark / In their midst / Our silhouettes kiss / Guess that’s showbiz / Guess that’s curtains / Was it just showbiz?”

Williams teased the release on her retro-inspired website, where fans discovered a 'Trash' folder with a file listing cities such as Atlanta, New York City, Los Angeles, Oakland, Baltimore, and several in Europe, suggesting a potential tour.

Grammy Nominations

On the same day, Williams earned four nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards. Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party is nominated for Best Alternative Music Album, 'Parachute' for Best Alternative Music Performance, 'Mirtazapine' for Best Rock Performance, and 'Glum' for Best Rock Song.

This adds to her career total of 11 nominations. She previously won her first Grammy in 2015 for Best Rock Song with Paramore's 'Ain’t It Fun,' and two more in 2024 for Best Rock Album and Alternative Music Performance with This Is Why.

Background and Insights

In a Rolling Stone interview with Jack Antonoff, Williams discussed her songwriting process: “I would write the lyrics and feel really uncomfortable about it, but then the processing all happened a lot quicker for me this time around… I had that with ‘Whim.’ That song explains so much about how I view relationships, and I think my downfall in them and the tendency to sabotage.”

The album, released over the summer, has been praised for Williams' confident sonic landscape. Last month, she surprise-released 'Good Ol’ Days' before performing at Rolling Stone’s Musicians on Musicians event in New York.
