The Concours Général 2026 ceremony was held on July 13 in Paris to honor France’s top high school students. The Henri IV lycée received prizes across seven different disciplines.
The ceremony took place in the auditorium of the Direction interministérielle du Numérique at 20 Avenue de Ségur in Paris’s 7th arrondissement. The venue was selected because of the heatwave affecting the capital.
Édouard Geffray, Minister of Education, attended to congratulate the 447 laureates. This edition drew 23 061 candidates.
The Concours Général, created in 1747 by Abbé Legendre, rewards volunteer students. Past laureates include Charles Baudelaire, Victor Hugo and Emmanuel Macron.
