HK Malmö took the lead in the SM semifinal series against Sävehof with a 31–29 (18–12) home win on Sunday. The match turned into a thriller after a strong first half with a six-goal lead for Malmö. Nikola Roganovic sealed the victory with his sixth goal.
HK Malmö secured its third straight playoff win by defeating Sävehof 31–29 in the first SM semifinal at home. The team led 18–12 at halftime after an offensive display with seven different scorers contributing to the first 11 goals.
The second half brought drama: Sävehof tied it at 29–29 with two minutes left. Felix Montebovi, trusted after being benched in the quarterfinals, scored four goals. “That’s what the crowd wants – close, exciting matches,” he said.
Nikola Roganovic, back after illness and a foot injury, netted six goals including the decisive 30–29. Ebbe Håkansson made key saves late on. “Nikola is back. It’s a relief,” Montebovi commented, also praising Christoffer Brännberger for his experience.
Sävehof, which upset Hammarby in the quarters, fought hard but relied too much on Sebastian Durlanu and Truls Grötta. It marks Malmö’s third straight win over Sävehof after four losses eight months ago. The next match is in Partille on Wednesday; first to three wins advances to the final.
