India's Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday urged Pakistan's younger generation to recognize Islamabad's role in cross-border terrorism and end the practice.
The ministry's spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, said at the bi-weekly media briefing that Pakistan has sponsored cross-border terrorism against India for decades. He noted that people in India, including Gen Z, have demanded an end to this policy and hoped their Pakistani counterparts would take note.
Jaiswal linked the comments to recent online support from some Pakistani social media users for a protest at Jantar Mantar by the Cockroach Janta Party. Officials said such online exchanges are unlikely to change the frozen state of bilateral relations.
India has kept the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance following the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack. Ties remain stalled due to Pakistan's support for cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, the ministry added.
Jaiswal also dismissed Pakistan's claims to the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation, saying its record on minority rights makes such assertions phoney.
