The Iranian embassy in Stockholm has posted an AI-generated Lego-style video depicting the assassination of Olof Palme. The clip forms part of a series of propaganda films from Iranian embassies worldwide.
The video shows Olof and Lisbeth Palme walking through a wintry Stockholm before Olof Palme is shot and falls to the ground. Red Lego bricks spray from the figure as an AI voice discusses unsolved theories about the murder and asks: ”När de mäktiga faller på gatan – vem håller i vapnet?”.
The embassy explained in an email that the figures honour Palme and Folke Bernadotte for their principles. The aim is to oppose apartheid, nuclear weapons and war crimes while reviving values such as peace and human dignity.
Relations between Sweden and Iran are at a historic low. Swedish and Israeli authorities state that crime boss Rawa Majid is protected in Iran and can order attacks from there.
