Rassemblement National president Jordan Bardella was assaulted during a book signing in Moissac, Tarn-et-Garonne, on Saturday, November 29, 2025. A 74-year-old man crushed an egg on his head before being arrested and placed in custody. Bardella was unharmed and filed a complaint.
Jordan Bardella's book signing for Ce que veulent les Français in Moissac was disrupted around 15:45 on Saturday, November 29, 2025. While signing copies, a 74-year-old man approached in the queue and crushed an egg on his head, according to the gendarmerie and Montauban prosecutor's office. Bardella's entourage described the act as "a punch with an egg." Security intervened immediately, and the attacker was arrested on site for "violence against a public authority figure without incapacity." He is currently in custody.
Bardella was unharmed and was briefly evacuated before resuming the session. A complaint was filed on behalf of Jordan Bardella and the Rassemblement National (RN). On X (formerly Twitter), the RN president wrote: "Je vais bien," thanking his supporters and "the hundreds of readers" present. The RN claims the man was part of an anti-RN protest group, but neither the gendarmerie nor the prosecutor's office could confirm this link at this stage. Investigations aim to clarify his motivations.
This incident follows another assault the previous Tuesday in Vesoul, Haute-Saône, where a 17-year-old high school student threw flour at Bardella during an agricultural fair. The minor was placed in custody and will undergo a citizenship training course.
RN figures reacted with outrage.
