Julius Berger reaffirms CSR commitment on International Day of Charity

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc marked the International Day of Charity by donating food items and relief supplies to orphanages and hospices across Nigeria. The company's initiatives targeted vulnerable children in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory, emphasizing long-term community support. Beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude for the timely assistance.

On November 17, 2025, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc renewed its dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to commemorate the International Day of Charity. In its Region West operations, the company supported the Hearts of Gold Children Hospice, a facility for children with disabilities, and the Shinning Light Beach School Foundation by donating essential food and relief items. These contributions aim to aid care and education for vulnerable groups.

Mr. James Agama, speaking for the company's management, highlighted Julius Berger's CSR approach: “Corporate Social Responsibility at Julius Berger is anchored on long-term impact. It reflects our enduring commitment to building stronger communities, improving quality of life, and supporting causes that promote inclusivity, education, healthcare, and social welfare across Nigeria.” He noted the framework's four pillars: Education, Healthcare, Environmental Sustainability, and Community Development.

At the Shinning Light Beach School Foundation, founder Lady Salami Dorcas praised the donation: “I am super excited by the donation made today by Julius Berger because the burden of catering for food supply in this orphanage has been taken care of for a long period. I am exceedingly grateful and on behalf of Shinning Light Beach School Foundation, we say a very big thank you to Julius Berger.” The Julius Berger team included Mrs. Funke Obolo, Ero Sandra Onome, Mobolaji Ogunyemi, and Mercy Ogheneraye.

In the Federal Capital Territory, Julius Berger extended donations to Destined Children Orphanage in Kado, which cares for 45 children aged one month to 19 years and was founded in 2017, and Unique Choices Care Foundation in Kubwa, home to 24 children aged three months to 16 years and supporting over 650 widows since 2018. Administrator Ms. Sarah Chukwuemeka of Destined Children said: “We are deeply grateful. What you have brought will go a long way.” Founder Mrs. Choice C. Michael of Unique Choices added: “I was overwhelmed with joy when I saw this. I am so happy, and I thank Julius Berger a million times.”

Public Relations Officer Mr. Akeem Lawal affirmed: “Every year, Julius Berger extends assistance to orphanages and charity organisations as part of its CSR policy. Our goal is to ensure that these children enjoy the festive season like every other child. In addition to today’s donation, the company will also credit each orphanage with a token sum.” The visits were met with songs, prayers, and palpable joy from children and community members.
