Ring Royale, organized by Poncho de Nigris, announced its first main fight: a boxing match between influencer Karely Ruíz and TV presenter Marcela Mistral. The bout is set for March 15, 2026, at Arena Monterrey in Nuevo León. The matchup revives a seven-year-old feud between the two.
The announcement of the fight between Karely Ruíz and Marcela Mistral kicks off Ring Royale, a new amateur sports event spearheaded by actor and reality TV alum Poncho de Nigris. In a chat with Wendy Guevara and Nicola Porcella, De Nigris stated: “We’re going to be the competition for Supernova.” The official poster, shared on Ring Royale’s social media, confirms the date of March 15, 2026, and the venue at Arena Monterrey.
The feud between Ruíz and Mistral, De Nigris’s wife, dates back seven years to an episode of the TV show Mitad y Mitad, where 18-year-old Ruíz was a contestant. Mistral challenged the nature of Ruíz’s social media photos, asking: “Are you an influencer? What do you sell, what do you advertise?” The host voiced her disapproval, saying: “Because of people like you, I don’t let my kids on the internet.” In a recent video, Ruíz recalled crying after the incident but noted they have since reconciled.
This will be Ruíz’s second ring appearance, following her knockout win over Karen García in Stream Fighters 4. De Nigris teased more viral matchups featuring artists, politicians, and athletes, potentially including Alfredo Adame, Aldo de Nigris, and Nicola Porcella. The event will feature not just boxing but also circus acts, wrestling, and limited musical performances. Tickets go on sale soon via the Superboletos platform, requiring a free account with an email address.
De Nigris highlighted the event’s scope: “(They’ll be fights) with artists, politicians, celebrities, athletes, and more (...) all viral fights,” adding: “circus spectacle, wrestling, and many more things, two or three singers without overdoing the music, but we’re going to make a damn good show.” Ring Royale aims to establish itself as a full-fledged spectacle in Mexico’s amateur boxing scene.
