Kristersson warns against Left Party in government

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson criticised the Left Party during Almedalen Week in Visby. He claimed the party would pose a danger to Sweden if included in a government.

Ulf Kristersson repeated his criticism of the Left Party during his speech at Almedalen on Thursday. He referred to alarming signs of antisemitic expressions and terror romanticism among the party's representatives.

– Many in Sweden who would feel great concern if that kind of policy gained influence, Kristersson said.

The Moderates simultaneously presented a proposal for a parental deduction that would give families with children at least 500 kronor per month. The proposal is estimated to cost six billion kronor per year and would be financed through savings on bureaucracy and benefits.

Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar dismissed the warnings as strange. She highlighted the party's proposal for a baby payment of 15,000 kronor to all first-time parents.
