A large police operation is underway in Rönninge, Salem municipality south of Stockholm, on the afternoon of December 26. Police have deployed a helicopter, dog patrols, and criminal technicians, setting up barriers near the center. Spokesperson Per Fahlström confirms investigative measures but provides no details.
The operation in Rönninge, located southwest of Stockholm, began in the afternoon of Boxing Day, around 4:30 PM according to witnesses. A police helicopter has been hovering over the area for an extended period, and officers are searching with dog patrols near the center. Barriers with blue-and-white tape have been set up, and criminal technicians are on site.
Police are tight-lipped about the incident. Spokesperson Per Fahlström from Stockholm police states: “We are conducting investigative measures in a case that I currently cannot say anything about. We usually can say something, but not in this case.” He adds: “We have various resources to carry out investigative measures; I cannot go into exactly which ones.”
Fahlström emphasizes that there is no danger to the public. Witnesses have reported the helicopter circling over a large area in Salem and toward Södertälje. The operation is described as extensive, but police refrain from commenting on specific circumstances of the case.
