Fortifikationsverket plans to sell an old lighthouse house on the island of Gran in the Baltic Sea off Nordanstig. The property was previously used by the defense forces and was offered to the municipality without the deal going through.
The island of Gran lies just over a Swedish mile out in the Baltic Sea from the Hälsingekusten coast in Nordanstig. There stands a lighthouse house that has existed since 1886 and was used by the defense forces until the 1990s.
Fortifikationsverket has resolved a complicated property formation and can now sell the property on the open market. The municipality declined an offer of around 700,000 kronor.
Fanny Bohlin, responsible for the sale at Fortifikationsverket, says they are now looking for a real estate agent. She hopes the sale can start during the summer.
The island and surrounding waters are a nature reserve and the northern parts are also a seal protection area. Gran also has an old fishing village with cottages now used as holiday homes.
