Man caught with narcotics during camera installation in Gränbyparken

Police arrested a man suspected of drug offenses during the installation of new surveillance cameras in Gränbyparken in Uppsala. The incident occurred in mid-July.

During the installation of new surveillance cameras in the northern part of Gränbyparken, police spotted a man who had used narcotics. He is also suspected of selling drugs.

Municipal police officer Erik Torstensson commented on the intervention. He said it shows the cameras were placed in the right spot.

The cameras were installed in mid-July after increased problems with drug sales and public disorder in the area. They are scheduled to remain at least until mid-August before a new assessment.

Police have signs in the area informing about the surveillance. Torstensson said people who want to avoid being filmed can choose not to be there.
