Police were called to Uppsala central station just after 10am on Wednesday morning following reports of a man performing sexual acts on himself. Several people called in and pointed out the man, who is in his 40s. A report of sexual molestation has been filed.
Police received the alert at Uppsala's Resecentrum just after 10am on Wednesday. Several witnesses called in reporting that a man in his 40s had exposed himself and masturbated in public amid the crowd.
Stefan Larsson, police spokesperson, described the incident as unpleasant and frightening. "It is of course unpleasant and even frightening because there are a lot of people down there," he told SVT Nyheter.
The man was pointed out on site by witnesses, and police filed a report for sexual molestation. He was not detained.
Larsson noted that such incidents unfortunately increase in spring. "Unfortunately, it is something we see an increase in during spring," he stated.
