The young woman, who lives in Dallas, Texas, has kept details of her fiancé, the date, and wedding location private. Luis Felipe noted that his sister is very happy.
Luis Felipe Calderón, María's brother, shared the news in an interview with Adela Micha. He said María will marry after graduating, but gave no further details on the fiancé. "She is very happy," Luis Felipe stated, recalling that their parents ensured a normal childhood during their father's presidency, without changing schools.
María Calderón Zavala studied Theater and Artistic Administration at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, plus a business specialization. She began her career as a playwright and producer at age 19 in Mexico City, performing roles in musicals, historical dramas, and comedies.
On her LinkedIn profile, she describes herself as an administrator, manager, and strategist for community projects, artist, and theater instructor. "The arts are the best business that exists," she writes, highlighting experience in strategy, human resources, and community management for organizations with social or artistic purposes.
She has worked for seven months as executive director's assistant at EarthX in Dallas, focusing on event planning. Previously, she spent over five years at Dallas Theatre Center as community liaison, coordinator, and bilingual teaching artist, and independently at The Goode Experience and Bishop Arts Center.
